my approach

photography should never be a one-way transaction. it’s important to hire a photographer who thinks intuitively and feels genuinely. being able to capture and freeze raw and intimate moments through a documentary approach not only elevates the experience of nostalgia but also makes one realize that a genuine relationship with whoever is shooting your wedding or elopement, really makes all the difference. establishing an inclusive environment for couples to feel valued and their love stories heard ultimately allows for raw emotion and connection to flow seamlessly. thus setting the stage for many picture-perfect moments.

the meeting

01 /

after you've inquired with me, we will schedule a meeting either in person or virtually to make sure we will be a good fit. during this introductory call, we will mostly focus on getting to know each other and the vision of your elopement or micro-wedding. specifically, not just what you want it to look like, but how you want it to feel. once we've scheduled a meeting, i will send over my customized pricing guide based off of your vision.

beforehand

02 /

if we both feel as though our values align, then i will send over a contract for you to sign and pay the non-refundable deposit. your date is not secured until the contract has been signed and the non-refundable deposit paid. once both of those things have been signed and sealed, the planning process will begin! you will receive 24/7 access to my personal cell phone number where you can ask any questions via text or phone call at any time. we’ll also meet up at least two more times (at minimum) in person or virtually to go over timeline and details leading up to your wedding, elopement, or session.

 the day of

03 /

during our pre-planning calls, i offer timeline assistance as a way to gauge the overall flow of the day however, the timeline is not a strict outline of the day because rigid schedules may take away from being fully present. when your special day arrives, it‘s important to remember that this day is about being with the person you love and everyone involved wants to celebrate the two of you; including myself!

afterwards

04 /

once the big day is over, you can expect sneak peeks within a week and your full photo gallery within 4-6 weeks. sometimes longer depending on how busy i am. take some time to be in love, decompress, and then get excited to relive your day all over again. i cannot wait to work with you!

frequently asked questions

what do you shoot on?

01 /

here’s an in-depth explanation of my gear list. the main cameras i shoot on are the fujifilm gfx 50sii, the fujifilm xt-4, and a contax g2. the lenses i use are the fujifilm gfx 80mm f1.7, the fujifilm xf 16-55mm f2.8, the contax 28mm f2.8, and the contax 90mm f2.8 lens. i also use the fujifilm godox v.1 flash as my go-to external flash. as an add-on to any package, we can do a small highlight video on super 8mm.

frequently asked questions

why do you shoot digital and film?

02 /

shooting in a hybrid method helps me be more intentional with the shots i get. since film photography is the foundation of digital photography, understanding both makes me feel more connected to the cameras i am shooting on. once i started perceiving the world through these different lenses (figuratively and physically), i realized how the outcome of your photographs has everything to do with your connection to your craft.

frequently asked questions

do you mostly shoot weddings and elopements or do you also shoot other stuff?

03 /

my main focus is elopements and mirco-weddings but i also take on 10 weddings a year. i also shoot engagement sessions, adventure sessions, maternity sessions (but only for past clients), and the occassional senior session. i used to shoot only shoot senior sessions and weddings but have decided to scale down and focus on elopements and micro-weddings, which is where my heart truly lies. what i don’t shoot are grad sessions (college grads), boudoir sessions, and family photos (as in large family photos).

frequently asked questions

how many weddings do you take a year?

04 /

i take on 10 big weddings a year which leaves room for me to solely focus on micro-weddings, elopements, and engagement/adventure sessions. inquire with me soon if you want me to shoot your wedding!

frequently asked questions

why do you only offer one all inclusive package for micro-weddings & elopements?

05 /

i want to be able to unconditionally serve you
which is why i only offer one package for both my local and destination weddings which is all-inclusive and can be customized if need be. this allows me to be more intentional with my couples and also helps me combat burn out.

frequently asked questions

where are you located and do you travel?

06 /

i am located in bozeman, mt and i most certainly travel for work. inquire with me about my destination prices if you’re interested in having me come shoot your wedding or elopement outside of montana.

frequently asked questions

how many photos will i get back and what’s your turnaround time?

07 /

typically, you’ll receive anywhere from 100 + digital photos and 8-10 rolls of film.  my normal turnaround time is 4-6 weeks but this may change if i become really busy. you can also add on any super 8 footage to any package, if that's something you're interested in. however, this is not a full length wedding video. our super 8 footage will be made into a short highlight video which are snippets of your day compiled into a video.

frequently asked questions

if my partner and i are super shy infront of the camera, do you help with posing and camera shyness?

08 /

it is totally okay if you’re nervous or uncomfortable being infront of a camera. my partner and i model for styled shoots (mock weddings and elopements hosted by photographers for photographers ) which has helped me understand exactly how my couples feel. i will try my best to direct you through movements that feel natural to the two of you. i shy away from the term “posing” because that word makes everything feel like it has to be staged in order for it to be beautiful. i want to capture the two of you as you are. i recommend scheduling an engagement/adventure session with me months or even years before your wedding.

frequently asked questions

do you help plan elopements and micro-weddings ordo you just take photos?

09 /

i do help plan elopements and micro-weddings but i am not a wedding or elopement planner. what i offer are a curated packages that reflect couples’ needs in terms of what they want, photography wise. i help with things like timeline assistance, vendor recommendations, and location scouting. what i don’t do is coordinate with other vendors or help plan the vision of your elopement but i can help with the overall feeling of how you want your photos to look and feel.

frequently asked questions

where should we take our engagement photos? and do you offer complimentary engagement sessions in any of your wedding packages?

10 /

the location of your shoot should be up to the two of you. is there someplace you would like to go? somewhere you haven’t been but have always wanted to? or maybe somewhere you have been and want to go back? is there someplace that is special or significant to your relationship? all of these questions are things to think about when choosing your location. we can also discuss more about this once you’ve scheduled a meeting with me. and no, i do not offer complimentary sessions for weddings or elopements.

frequently asked questions

where did you learn photography?

11 /

when i was a senior in high school, i took a dark room class and fell in love with film and continued my love for film photography in college. i did three years of undergrad seeking a degree in art (becasue my small liberal arts college didn’t have a photography program so i decided to major in art) but then covid-19 happened and i just didn’t have it in me to continue with school. i needed to connect with people thus ace photography was born during the pandemic.
